Custom made '51 P Bass

I acquired this bass as a part exchange from a good customer (and very accomplished bass player)  and I must admit it's not the usual sort of bass that I would normally consider, but I was just totally sold on the looks!

It combines some great features from a few eras and built to the highest standard by a well renowned builder. The result is an extremely eye catching, unique, totally one-off bass.

The other great thing is that it plays as good as it looks. In fact I've had this bass since May and have been using it at home to practise on, and I was totally undecided whether to sell it or not. Still can't really decide!

Anyway, these are the very particular specifications:

Body: Alder in vintage white.

57-type contours and radiussing, with routing for 51-type control plate.

62-type 3-ply pickguard in mint/black/mint, cut to 51-type shape.

Neck: Allparts Fender-licensed one-piece maple neck with skunk stripe, truss rod adjustment at heel.

 51-type headstock shape.

Fender 'spaghetti' decal under clear coat.

Vintage tint.

70s-type radius.

Synthetic bone nut.

Black dots.

Hardware: Fender strap buttons.

Side-mounted jack socket in cat's-eye plate.

57-type bridge with threaded barrels.

51-type control plate with chrome dome knobs.
