1983 USA Fender Jazz Bass with original case

This 1983 Fender Jazz bass features the pretty rare one piece pickguard which unlike pretty much all other Jazz basses before and after, did not have the control knobs housed in a separate chrome plate.

Fender only produced this design for a short period of time. They weren't popular with dealers or customers, and after only six months production or so, Fender bowed to pressure and reverted to the traditional design of separate pickguard and chrome control plate.

Out of the models that were delivered and sold, many were converted by their new owners to the traditional look, too.

What this means is that its pretty hard to find one of these single piece pickguard basses and now, and I would think virtually impossible in this condition.

One owner since 1983 and only used infrequently, spending most of its time in its case. No discernable fret wear and only a few minor marks to show it has ever been used. Exceptional investment/museum grade condition.

Complete with its original Fender hard case.

A real collectors piece and certainly a worthy addition to any collection.
