Warwick Fortress Flashback circa 1996 with Warwick Snakeskin hard case

This rare bass is in mint condition. The more Warwick basses I get, the more I'm impressed with their quality and high build excellence - the attention to detail is amazing. Quality is one aspect of a bass (or guitar) that doesn't change with time - high quality then = high quality now. The Flashback is the rarest of this series and is now becoming collectable especially in this condition.

This is what Warwick has to say.....The Fortress series was introduced in 1991 and became a huge success in the nineties. It all started with the Fortress One (built from 1991 to 1999) and three years later, followed the Fortress Masterman (built from 1994 to 1999). The Fortress trio was then completed in 1996 with the introduction of the Flashback model (built until 1998). All Fortress models had a characteristic ergonomically shaped body and a prominent long upper horn that gave the bass an ideal balance. The combination of an ash body and a wenge neck provided rich harmonies.

The Fortress Flashback had a synthetic mother-of-pearl pickguard and two MEC Lipstick pickups intended for a retro look and delivering the corresponding vintage sounds. Its ash body provided a warm and midrange-rich tone that was enhanced with Lipstick pickups to a fat and lively sound.

Today the Fortress models, especially the Fortress Flashback, (Only produced from 1996 to 1998) are considered collector's items.

The case is also fantastic quality and very eye catching and fits the flamboyant style of this bass very well.
