Peavey Rudy Sarzo Bass circa 1990 with Hard Case

Rudy Sarzo has played with many of Rocks' giants including Ozzy Osbourne, Quiet Riot, Whitesnake, Dio, Yngwie Malmsteen and more recently with Blue Oyster Cult. He thoroughly deserved his own signature model!

The story goes that years ago, Rudy Sarzo was in a recording studio and fell in love with an Alembic bass that belonged to the engineer there. After trying several times unsuccessfully to get the engineer to sell him the bass, Sarzo went to Peavey and had them recreate the features he liked on the Alembic. The result of Peavey's efforts was the Sarzo model bass and although it was only produced from the late 80's - until the early 90's, it remained the flagship bass from Peavey until the introduction of the Cirrus line of basses. 

This bass has a very Alembic- like sound and features an on-board active preamp. One flick of a toggle switch and you're in passive mode, where the bass rumbles like an old P-bass or Stingray. This particular bass is in extremely good all original condition and comes complete with its original peavey hard case and instruction manual. These are now extremely rare basses and infrequently come up for sale, and this example is about as good as they get.

This is a classic late eighties, early nineties rock piece which is unusual and extremely cool. Would be perfect for any bassist in a classic rock band!
