Fender Japan TL- Zebra Telecaster

This is a Fender Japan TL-Zebra Non - Export Telecaster, made just for the home Japanese market and was a Limited Edition. Not many found their way over here, but this example did.

It's in excellent condition, pretty much mint really.

It has had the original stainless steel bridge saddles replaced with slant-compensated brass Stewart McDonald saddles, though the originals are also included in the sale as well, to keep it originality intact.

Has a quite 'vintage' Tele feel, the pickups are Fender Japan TL-VINTAGE units.

The main points of uniqueness are the highly figured Zebrawood caps front and back, which sandwich a mahogany body centre, painted black along the edge, leading to almost a bound effect. Not overly heavy though.

It has a gloss rosewood fingerboard on a maple neck, and from what I can gather is supposedly a Japanese reissue reference to the prototypes Fender made at the same time as the Rosewood Tele in the early 70's. I've never seen a lacquered rosewood fretboard before, it looks amazing and feels great to play.

It comes with the owners manual (Mainly in Japanese) and also the registration card showing the model and serial number.

(NB: The pictures show the guitar looking lighter in colour than it actually is. In reality it's a little bit darker and looks even better)
