Also, it was originally Olympic white as the original coat is still underneath – it has aged to that lovely creamy colour too, such a shame about the refinish, but I managed to expose a decent amount of the original under the bridge so it might be possible to remove all of it, not something I’d want to attempt though, too much of a labour of love, but this has been done on other basses.
It also has the original brass earthing plates under the pickups.
3-bolt neck, with micro tilt adjuster all working well. The set up on it was really bad as the EMG’s are taller than standard pickups and with all the old foam underneath they had to tilt the neck up a lot so the strings missed the pickups, which meant the saddles were very high. Now all sorted and playing extremely well. Not stupidly heavy either for the era – but still 11lbs
Maple neck with binding and pearl block inlays, lovely to play and a great tone. I think the vintage EMG’s work really well with it….
