1979 Gibson ES335 TD CRS Semi-Acoustic Guitar with Gibson hard case
This guitar is really quite exceptional. The condition is amazing and you’d never guess it was made in 1979.
The “CRS” stands for “Country rock Stereo” and apparently only 300 were made of this model. It has 2 jack sockets – the front jack gives you standard 335 sounds with coil tap options on top which is how you would use it most of the time, but if a lead is plugged into the rear jack and another into the front jack it splits the signal, so you can use two amps via the 2 leads – the 3-way pick up selector switch determines which amp is selected and which pick up. Full instructions are printed out and kept in the case.

Condition-wise it’s very hard to fault and the only blemish is the two small areas just above the nut where the rubber of a guitar wall hanger reacted with the lacquer. Not bad or particularly easy to see.
The pick-ups are two genuine mid 70s Bill Lawrence dirty fingers humbuckers which were fitted in the factory. The guitar is all original and unchanged. You can tell it has been very well looked after and not at all molested and messed around with. It’s hardly ever been apart, but I do have pictures of all the insides should you wish to see a particular shot.
The truss rod turns smoothly in both directions and acts as it should. The frets are in great shape with very little wear. It really is hard to fault and it plays as well as it looks. A superb guitar which is a solid investment.
