Lakland Skyline 44-51 Precision
I’ve had a few of the Lakland Skyline basses over the years, and they’re nice basses, always well made, well finished and built to a high standard.
This model is one of the hardest to find – their version of a 1951 Fender Precision, but with the better split coil Precision pick up. The fret work is particularly good and well finished, something that Lakland pride themselves on.
It really looks the part and has a great vintage vibe to it, with many original ’51 features such as a slab body shape made from Ash, finished in a see-thru butterscotch lacquer which really shows off the grain, and a rock maple neck with a 10″ radius.
Has top quality Hipshot ultra light tuners fitted, which are very accurate and light in weight, so no neck dive and a good balance on a strap.
This example has taken a knock on the edge near the jack socket which has been repaired, and has a few very light signs its been played. Other than that, it’s in great condition, fully set up, checked and ready to go.
It comes with a new tweed hard case – a good combination with this particular bass.
