Lakland Bob Glaub ’64 Precision signature Bass with gig bag
Bob Glaub is a very well renowned session player with credits as long as my arm – google him if you have a spare 20 minutes – and was suitably well regarded for Lakland to make him his own signature model.
This is an extremely well constructed bass in sunburst, with mint green pickguard and rosewood neck, and looks very cool in an understated sort of way.
In these days of active basses with bass, treble, mid, frequency sweep etc it’s actually nice to play a bass with one volume and one tone – you can do all other adjustments on the amp, which is, I guess, why Precisions are still so popular today 60+ years since they first appeared.
I’m really impressed with this bass – lovely fast neck and super low action on it. Apparently these basses have the components made in Korea then shipped over to the US for assembly and set up. The necks are Plek’d (Like Sandberg’s) hence the amazing playability.
If someone wants a great playing P bass for not too much money then this might be worth considering.
It’s a 2008 model and Lakland don’t make the Bob Glaub anymore. The sunburst finish is worth noting too – really lovely colours. A few tiny marks, but pretty much mint condition.
Fully set up with D’addario chromes (Flats, but very bright sounding with a warm full tone – I’m not  normally keen on flats but these are great)
Comes with a Lakland gig bag and ready to go…..
