1986 Westone Pantera x790 Bass MIJ

This was Westone’s top of the range bass back in 1986, and sold for a not inconsiderable $895, which was a lot of money then (and now)

Made in the Matsumoku factory in Japan, it had features well ahead of the competition – carved maple top, curved back and front, set neck, ebony fretboard, 2 pick ups with 3-way selector, and treble and bass boost/cut.

The design was very different for 1986 but still looks super stylish now, and this bass would be perfect for any rock band – subtle, understated and ultra cool.

This example is in great 100% original condition – it’s been played but very well looked after. A few tiny marks here and there, a couple of dings on the end of the headstock, and some paint has worn from the bridge, but barely any fretwear, no cracks and in fantastic condition.

Fashions come and go, but quality is constant, high quality when made = high quality now. These basses are worth buying now before people catch on and prices rise….

Comes with tatty but functional hard case.
