1975 Fender Jazz in Mocha with original case

1975 Fender Jazz in Mocha, all original inc case - £2795

Here’s a cool vintage bass. It’s a 1975 Fender Jazz in Mocha finish with maple neck and white pearl block inlays.
Other than the 4 intonation screws it’s completely original including the case. The finish has a few small scuffs and dings on the body, neck and headstock along with some arm wear on the edge of the upper bout but is otherwise in good condition. There is also some lacquer checking in the body finish. All electronics and hardware are in good working order. Comes with both chrome covers.
A previous owner claims this bass was once owned by Jet Harris of The Shadows (hence the transfer on the headstock) however, I have no way of verifying this. It may well just have been a covers band or a big fan of The Shadows that put it on. However, it was owned by Phil Spalding, best known as a session player who performed with Mike Oldfield, Mick Jagger, Seal, OMD, Robbie Williams, Elton John, Heaven 17, Randy Crawford and others. It was bought from him by a fellow pro bass player who has written and signed a letter of provenance.
This bass sounds fantastic with a huge tone and plenty of punch. It has plenty of mojo and plays very well with a straight neck. Serial number:663139. Weight: 11lbs 5oz / 5.13 kg. The neck date is difficult to read. The pots all date to mid-75. Fully set up. Previously had been with Andy Baxter and fully checked by his guitar tec etc.
An interesting, beautiful instrument which is lovely to play.
