I’ve had this one back for a little while now (about 3 years) but I’m trying to reduce my own personal collection so it’s up for sale.

It has a bit of a story behind it. When I first started my business, I used to import basses from the USA as you could get $2 to £1 then, so it was worthwhile, and I built up a few good contacts. Unfortunately, the exchange rate now makes this unviable.

This particular bass was one of the early ones I imported myself, probably in about 2007. It’s extremely good and all original. So good in fact, I used a picture of it on my business cards for a while (pls see pics) and kept it in my own personal collection. The condition is great, but this one also plays beautifully and has a particularly resonant, round tone, helped no doubt by the 2-piece ash body.

I eventually sold it in 2011 and bought it back from the same guy in January 2022. He mainly played guitar so it didn’t leave his house and is in the same condition 11 years later. At the time I did a full condition report on the bass including photos. (Still kept with the bass)

It also has its original case, with both chrome covers, unused thumb rest, lead, keys and tags. The manual is also included and has the serial number sticker on the front which matches the one of the headstock and on the underside of the pickguard.

It’s not completely perfect – there is some lacquer damage to the tip of the headstock, a couple of tiny chips to the lacquer and some very fine scratches on the back, but overall you’d have to go a long way to find one as good and as original as this one.
