 1973 Gibson EB0 Bass
This is a great example of Gibson’s renowned EBO bass. 30″ scale, fast and very playable and sounds good too. This is a good collectors bass but also benefits from a few upgrades which makes it more playable as well. The few reversible modifications included to make this bass more gig friendly, are the Hipshot Supertone bridge allowing for far better intonation/action adjustment, and Ultralite tuners which have alleviated all signs of neck dive.
Bridge is a drop in replacement and tuners have been done so that any sign should be covered up by originals, should you wish to refit. Currently fitted with GHS Pressurewounds, but will have D’addario Chrome Flats included. Dunlop Straplocks and a nice wide strap.
Reunion Blues semi hollow guitar case which is a good fit and offers a lot of protection.
Truss rod turns smoothly in both directions and acts as it should. The truss rod nut is pretty cleaned and un-burred and shows no signs of mistreatment. The pots date to early 1973. the bass is marked with “2” at the top of the rear headstock, presumably as it left the factory as a second, but this is very common and usually down to a minor finish blemish and nothing to be concerned about. More photos on request.
This bass is really easy to play and has a super low action, fitted with a set of La Bella flats. This is the best of both worlds, a good vintage bass that perfect to play as your number one bass….
