Limelight ’57 Precision Bass in Candy Apple Red
This is a nearly new, barely used Limelight and could easily pass for new. It was ordered as a “very light relic” and I think it’s the lightest relic job we’ve done to date. Looks really good.
Has all the period correct features such as Gold Anodized guard, maple fretboard and reverse tuners.
Candy Apple Red is a difficult colour to do. As you may well be aware it’s a silver base coat with layers of clear red lacquer applied on top.
We do it the same way as Fender did. It’s definitely not an exact science as the depth of colour is affected by the thickness and number of coats, and the shade of the base coat.
We’ve experimented over the years using different base coat combinations, starting with white and then adding silver etc.
It’s also light in weight at 8.8lbs
Has the added bonus of being fitted with expensive Thomastik Flatwounds
