Here’s a very handsome 1986 Yamaha BB400S, Made in Japan, 40 years old, and a very nice vintage instrument.
It wears its age well, sure it has a few marks here and there, but nothing bad or particularly noticeable, it’s obviously been well looked after during its life.
It had a thumb rest fitted at some stage (2 x screw holes visible) but a thumb rest could be fitted again, or easy to live with as is.
The tuners have been changed at some point, but now sporting the correct 3 hole ones.
The neck is particularly nice on this one, arrow straight, fast to play, and set up with a very low action.
The original pots and wiring have been replaced with a quality loom all ready for the next 40 years.
Sounds great too, the “S” after BB400 denotes a pickup from a high end Yamaha of the day.
Comes in a new gig bag.
