Here’s one of the  Masterpieces I ordered from Sandberg over 1 year ago!
It’s a Sandberg California II VS4 Masterpiece
It’s in natural (Alder) which isn’t available as standard option but was made for me as a special dealer request. It’s rare, beautiful and pretty special. A similar spec in a standard colour would be over £3000 now, (You can check this on the Sandberg configurator) as various price rises have now taken affect, plus the lead time is over a year.
Has the black blocks fret markers as well…
Not many Masterpieces are available to buy immediately, and this one is offered at a keen price.
The Masterpiece is top of the range when it comes to Sandbergs’, and is built by Christian Raabe. He is destined to become as famous as some of the early Fender Custom Shop luthiers, such as John Cruz and Vince Cunetto and his work will be very collectible.
The VS4 is Sandberg’s equivalent to a Precision bass, passive, body made from alder, and the whole bass treated to vibration treatment after completion. It’s worth reading the leaflet which accompanies the bass (pictured)
Needless to say it plays superbly and the tone really is special – resonant, deep and with great sustain.
