New Sandberg VT4 Aged Vintage Tobacco sunburst factory hardcore aged £2095

Here’s a new Sandberg that’s just arrived with me. The lead time on ordering a new bass from Sandberg is now 2 years! Before Covid it was about 6 months, but after a surge in demand during the pandemic, the lead time got longer and longer and has not improved in the last few years at all, in fact it’s got worse.
This is mainly due to Sandberg’s resistance to up production, as the fear is there may be a drop in quality. Also, skilled staff are hard to find and take a long time to train, so will just have to accept it. It does mean that ordering a bass to your own specs isn’t an option for most people, due to the long wait, so if you see a Sandberg that you like, best buy it…..
This particular Sandberg is especially nice – my favourite pickup layout (basically a Precision with an added J at the bridge) and features some very desirable upgrades, such as a rosewood fretboard (just look at the colour of it, beautiful) with pearl block inlays, and the bass has been hardcore aged in the factory.
Two tone vintage tobacco sunburst (over aged yellow undercoat) just suits the aging process perfectly, and instantly looks “right” without trying too hard.
Every Sandberg bass has been Plek’d in the factory.  A Plek is a computer-controlled fret leveling tool, which in the hands of an experienced tec, can provide an unparalleled fret job. It levels frets with an accuracy of .001″, assists in the process of making nuts, and offers extremely advanced setup functions.
This would pretty much be my ideal gigging bass….
